In this image, the horns of a bull rise in the foreground, curved like the bars of a cage. The reflections are inverted, the light and shadow pushed to extremes, and the bull’s legs seem to stretch unnaturally, reminiscent of Dalí’s surreal distortions. It’s a view where the horse, usually the guardian of these lands, feels caught in a dream turned wrong. Here, the bull takes on an unsettling dominance, reversing the usual balance between the two. The scene feels like it belongs in a dream you can’t quite wake from, where the familiar order of the Camargue has been quietly rearranged.

Personal Reflection:

At the start of this journey, the weather threw me off course. It rained for the first four or five days. Panic began to creep in as I realized my original plan was slipping away. The rain pushed me to adapt. I stepped outside my comfort zone and began experimenting with double exposures, turning familiar scenes into something surreal.

Looking back, I am grateful for that challenge. If the weather had been perfect, I might have stayed in safe mode and never pushed the boundaries of my creativity.

Night-Mare came out of that shift. It is one of my favorites, not because it is easy to look at, but because it marks a moment of artistic growth. I let go of control and let the process lead me somewhere new. The image blurs the line between reality and nightmare, much like Dalí’s surreal distortions. It reminds me that profound art can emerge if I am willing to step outside my comfort zone and into the unknown.
